Toobin’ on the Comal |

|
We're Texans, we're tough -- but we're also gonna find a way to spend a day away from the Texas summer heat! Join us in New Braunfels for Toobin' on the Comal River -- the shortest river in the State of Texas. It starts and ends in New Braunfels and is a cold, clear water entirely spring fed river. 10AM Saturday, 24-July at the Rockin'R on the Comal. We'll be using our favorite outfitter -- Rockin'R - they have a great location (walking distance from the river), CLEAN bathrooms, and a chance to buy sunglasses, swimsuits, shoes, or whatever else you may have forgotten. They have the funky/junky shuttle buses but are run by frat boys it seems.
Toobin' is fun...
The most popular attraction is the Tube Chute, an S-shaped slide down Stinky Falls. The ride is swift, and you should wear tennis shoes or Aquasox to protect your feet from the concrete and because the rocks are covered in algae and can be slippery. You can go through the Tube Chute as many times as you want. The Tube Chute is not recommended for children under 6.
Here's a picture of one of the head springs of the comal -- man, it is inviting to stick your toes into.
This is right after exiting the headwaters...
